I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bain & Company in Feb 2015
Interview
Applied through campus recruitment, interview was scheduled for 2 back to back 40 minute interviews. Each consisted of brief (5 minutes) behavioral questions and then dove straight into the case. Cases were not extremely difficult, there were a couple key points they were definitely looking for in each. Make sure you nail the math. One interviewer was very friendly and conversational, the other was on her computer the whole and time and seemed disinterested. Don't let that phase you.
I was told to expect to hear back by the end of the week. I never got a phone call and spoke to a few friends who had been denied. Another week went by and everyone I knew had heard back by then so I emailed the recruiter. She responded telling me that I should expect to hear from my interviewer shortly. Another week went by without anything so I emailed one of the consultants that gave me a practice interview. He never responded and I haven't heard anything since. Pretty disappointing from such a respected company.
i had an interview with Bain after completing my online assessment. They gave me 4 days to prepare for the two case and 1 behavioral interviews in the first round. Is this normal?
Typical consulting cases with 5 minutes of behavioral in the beginning. Two separate interviewers for the first round; math questions were not hard and mostly focused on market sizing. Good luck!
case studies and guesstimates followed up by resume questions. first it started with an aptitude test which was hard and then the short listing for interviews. we had 2 interviews per person
