I applied on LinkedIn and was contacted promptly by their recruiter. We scheduled a 30 minute phone interview, which went great. The conversation was easy and Belmont seemed like a good company.
I was scheduled for a one-hour interview with the hiring manager, onsite at the facility. That was a pleasure. The manager was personable and kind. We had a lovely talk and both agreed the hour went by quickly. We talked about next steps. She said the recruiter would reach out to me in the next few days.
But then nothing happened. I didn't hear from anyone. I waited a few days and reached out to the recruiter, who said they must have decided to go with an internal candidate, but that she'd find out and get back to me.
I think you know how this ends. The recruiter never got back to me.
I was very surprised. Ghosting after a good interview has become somewhat common these days. But I really thought Belmont was different.
