I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy in Mar 2013
Interview
Initially applied via the Best Buy website, about a month later I got a phone call from the hiring manager to set up an interview, and within a week had an interview with the assistant manager at the location. The interview was very laid back and allowed for open communication. The assistant manager was very friendly when he was going over store policies, duties, etc. The interview with the general manager was a hitch as well, although the questions were a little bit more in-depth.

I applied online. I interviewed at Best Buy (San Marcos, CA)
Interview
The interview went as expected for a job in retail. I was asked about past experience and what my current availability looked like. At the time, I accepted an offer and was working shortly afterwards.
Normal behavioral interview. Phone call, interview, offer. Pretty easy to get through. Went in for a tour, asked a couple questions. Everyone was pretty nice. Nothing unexpected. Could be different now though.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Best Buy
Interview
Very casual and normal line of questions. Depending on the role you apply for they do ask behavioural questions and some strength and weaknesses. Fairly quick process. You will be asked to meet twice and one phone call for screening
