Interview
The process for me was two phone interviews, job assignment, and then an on-site. The first phone interview was with recruiting and the second was with a member of the product team. Everyone was very nice, professional, and passionate about the work at they did. I really enjoyed getting to speak with them and completing the job assignment.
I was invited to an on-site and ultimately decided I wasn't ready to leave my current position, so I exited the process at that time. However, it was a really tough decision to do so. I could definitely see myself working at BetterUp and enjoying my time there given the interview process and how they handled things. They were efficiently thorough in determining the skill set they are looking for. Their questions were well thought out and about half of them were targeted to my personal candidacy. Communication with the recruiting team was strong and demonstrated that they valued you as a candidate.
Overall, it was a tough decision to exit the process and I have nothing but respect for BetterUp and their recruiting efforts.

Can you tell us about a time you had to make a design decision with little to no data at your disposal to do so, and the decision you made?

Interview
The interview process was very pleasant. The initial screening gave a very thorough overview of what the organization was looking for, and I felt very aligned with the values of the organization. I was moved to the hiring manager, where we had a deep and engaging conversation about the product being built and the experience requirements to bring it to life. While we didn't find a fit, I received a personal phone call to follow up on the experience to deliver specific feedback. I would absolutely consider interviewing here again.

Tell me about a zero to one feature you shipped, that you are most proud of
After initial interview with recruiter, I was moved pretty quickly through the process. Virtual onsite during covid consisted of interviews with marketing, engineering, product, and 2 interviews with the hiring manager. I didn't get the role (my mistake in the final presentation) but I felt like the process was efficient and comfortable.

The process was fair. I spoke to three employees and then the product leader. Everyone was really nice and they asked good questions about my past and my experience. The company is growing fast and they were clear to also ask about what they were looking for and how I might or might not fit.
