I received an email late Sunday night asking for a phone interview. I was instructed to call this person back and leave a detailed message regarding my availability, I could also email if I really wanted. I emailed, gave my availability, and never heard anything. Maybe a week later, I receive a phone call from the founder of the company asking "Is now still a good time to talk?", they never scheduled anything with me, but I said okay. They asked why I applied to them, and I told them. They asked about my background, which I told them about. They then asked what my current salary is - not what my salary expectation/desire is - and then cut me off to tell me that I was not a fit for them based on my current salary. They then went on to give me unsolicited career advice based on incorrect assumptions that they were making about my background and about my salary expectations. That was it. The entire call lasted maybe 10 minutes.
If this is how this company screens potential candidates, I don't want to imagine what it must be like to work there.
