I applied online at the end of March and received an invitation to complete a video interview a few weeks later. Once that was complete, I was contacted by a recruiter and set up a phone interview with the hiring manager. The phone interview went very well - the manager stated that he actually had multiple open positions, but was covering for a co-worker who was out on maternity leave. He mentioned next steps during the conversation and told me to "stay tuned" for information regarding next steps in the process. After a few weeks without any communication, I reached out to the recruiter who told me that she wasn't actually my recruiter, and she forwarded my message to someone else. I also reached out to the second recruiter but never received any response. Frustrated, I sent a check-in email to the hiring manager, who told me that he decided to hire a local candidate rather than someone who would telecommute (despite the job description stating that the position was a telecommuting role). He did apologize for the recruiter's lack of contact, and was nice enough to refer me to another hiring manager who was looking to fill a similar position.
