      I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Block

      Interview

      I did not hear back after my initial application for 2 months. Then I received a request to create a video interview. After that was complete I moved forward to in person interviews, where I spent an hour and interviewed with 5 of my potential peers. After that interview I was invited back for a final round with my potential direct supervisor. The communication with HR was terrible the entire time and they rushed me through the interview process only to take weeks to give me notice that I was not selected. They requested interviews short notice and had difficulty confirming after I responded to their requests and rearranged my schedule multiple times. Their entire HR process is a train wreck, and after the extensive effort and scheduling I undertook to interview with Square, the manager for my final interview seemed very disinterested and unengaged.

      Interview

      There were several phases- a phone interview with two different individuals, then an in-person with 5 different parts. Everyone I met was intelligent, inviting, and professional. Seemed like there was a strong culture of inclusion. The person who led me through the process was very helpful and always available to answer my questions. They did drop off a bit at the end, which was strange considering the level of responsiveness at the beginning. I waited for the final interview to be extended (the online portal said I was advancing to the next round) and I eventually accepted a different position, partially because I didn't hear from them.
