There’s an initial phone screen and a technical interview. Then you have to prepare an hour long presentation, written summary, and sit through 5 separate one-on-ones. I have to admit it took a good chunk of time, as well as PTO off work. Unfortunately, the hiring manager never showed up to the panel interview and I was told to go ahead anyway.
This meant that in addition to prep time, I wasted 3.5 hours of my own and Blue Origin engineers’ time, for an interview I wasn’t even a candidate for. It’s expected to be ghosted and/or rejected. But to make someone go through that much work and for the hiring manager to not even have the decency to show up? Disrespectful. Complete disregard for me and shows that the company is just trying to make a quota for “x” number of interviews. Recruiters were nice.
