Overall, I had a positive interview experience with engaged interviewers and fair questions.
Round one - application plus two weeks - The first round of the interview consisted of a phone screen with the hiring manager and an engineer. They asked fair questions, relevant to the job description. Know the job description inside and out and you’ll be prepared. Also, be prepared to give your 5 minute “elevator pitch.”
Round two - application plus six weeks - The second round consisted of an hour long technical talk. This is fairly standard. The team asked good questions.
Round three - application plus seven weeks - The third round consisted of “standard Boeing questions.”
Offer - application plus eleven weeks - Even with a round of negotiation, the offer was well below my minimum salary requirements and well below what I would expect, given the Seattle area cost of living. The position was offered as a union position, with a less competitive 401(k) match than direct Boeing employees and not much PTO. The position was bonus-eligible, but you can’t rely on that, especially in a year like 2020. I did not accept.
