I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Booz Allen Hamilton (McLean, VA)
Interview
Interviewed with six different hiring managers from various technical teams. Each of the hiring managers represented various functional aspects of systems development (engineering, networking, operations, architecture). The managers all had different styles for example, some put me on the white board and asked specific technical questions about network protocols, some asked about network architectures, some asked about my understanding of encryption technologies. Apparently I was selected by three of the six hiring managers and the one with the most pressing client need was allowed to hire me.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked to get on a whiteboard and draw network diagrams and then explain the different components
The phone screen interviewer arrived 10 minutes late. The team interview also started 15 minutes late, which was not a great first impression. The second interviewer arrived 30 minutes late and repeated the same questions during the interview. They provided little to no detail about the team when asked basic questions. I never heard back after my 2nd interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Booz Allen Hamilton (Springfield, VA) in Jan 2024
Interview
This place is on par with most other Fed IT companies. I think something worth mentioning for all reserve and guard people is that they do offer differential pay if you go on a deployment so super military friendly company
