Initial interviews went great with talent specialist and talent managers, and moved onto interview with the Hiring VP which mutually went very well, and was told I was the first candidate that had made it that far, and BAH a would need another 2 weeks to conclude 3rd round of interviews. I was told that I should expect we would meet again. After 3 weeks I followed up and got no response. After another followup with Hiring VP, I recieved an automated email message stating BAH was hiring another candidate. AN internal employee was apparently promoted. I should not have been told we would speak again at the conclusion of my 3rd interview.

I applied via the Booz Allen Hamilton website and was given an initial screening interview with an Executive Recruiter for a Director role. Afterwards, I was told that I would interview with a Director in the business unit who was performing a similar job function (job function 1) to the role to which I was applying. This was then changed to a different individual, a Principal, in a different business unit performing a different job function, job function 2. My interview with this individual focused exclusively on skills and experiences related to job function 2 and did not cover the topics and qualifications from the job posting (job function 1). In addition, the interviewer was 2 minutes late to the 45-minute interview, appeared to not be familiar with my resume and background, appeared uninterested and dismissive through body language and responses throughout the interview, and spent 41 of the remaining 43 minutes quizzing me on technical details related to the interviewer’s job function as opposed to the functions listed on the job description. I shared my feedback with the recruiter and asked to clarify the job role but did not hear back.
