After a recruiter's recommendation, I was invited to schedule a practice interview and then a first-round interview at the Amsterdam office of BCG. I maintained contact with the same HR rep throughout the process and she was very helpful in answering my logistical questions. The morning of the first round interview, I arrived 20 minutes early and received a booklet describing the 3 consultants I would speak with that day. The first round consisted of 2 one-hour interviews with consultants who matched with my resume background and interests. Each interview started with a half-hour personal segment and then a casual case interview. The personal segment in the first round focused very quickly and specifically on my learning style and self-awareness. The case studies were not tricky but did include some data analysis based on provided charts. After these interviews there was also a 45 minute computer based numerical test. I was called back for a second round interview that evening, which was scheduled a few weeks later. The second round again included two one-hour interviews, one with a consultant and one with a partner. It also included a written case study based on a large data packet, the expectations for which had been described to me by my HR contact.
