I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Box (Los Altos, CA)
Interview
Applied online. The process took around one week. Recruiter scheduled two back to back 45 minute technical phone interviews. If you do well on these then you are given an offer right away.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Design an elevator system with 50 floors and 4 elevators.
Terrible interview process. I was told to do an OA where they asked a couple hackerrank questions that were related to what they do which was nice but upon completion, they took long to reply and eventually told me that I had not completed the OA even though I did. I showed them that I did infact submit it and they then admitted it was a mistake on their end. They then said they’d get back to me and never did. I sent them a message asking for updates to no response. I emailed them again a week later and they then told me I was not selected. Overall very poor communication on their end.

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Box (Redwood City, CA) in Dec 2018
Interview
All either online or phone, no in person interviews.
Process included: coding challenge, 2 week long take home coding practice, 1 hour code walk-through + 30 minute phone interview.
Offer extended a week after code walk-through and phone interview
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Box (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2016
Interview
Got a hackerrank challenge from the recruiter which was above-average difficulty but not impossible. Then had two back-to-back interviews via hangouts with some engineers. The first question was a system design question about elevators and the second was more algorithmic. Overall a very quick process with some great people!
