I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bozzuto (Herndon, VA) in Feb 2008
Interview
I think I was called by HR first for a preliminary interview. Then I interviewed at a cafe with the regional manager for about one hour. My regional was very interested in my marketing abilities as I was interviewing to open a brand new company. He wanted to know my closing percentage for leasing both for myself and my staff.

Spoke with HR rep first. Be advised that HR has a significant weight in the hiring process so just understand that expectation going into the interview. HR decides if you move on or not and provides recommendations. Next interview was with Regional Manager & VP, we spoke for about an hour diving into job specifics, situation questions, experience based questions. There’s truly nothing to “prepare for” if you’re already living and breathing the role daily. Loved both of them in the interview. Final interview was with the client and they were the most “difficult” as they care about their investment which makes sense. It’ll be up to you to put them at ease about how you’ll make them money/solve their crisis problem/ lease up/whatever the main issues are. Overall the interview process is straight forward and meant for those who are talented. Bozzuto is a mafia in the best way so just don’t be upset if you get declined the first time just work harder for next time.

Hiring process isn’t transparent. Positions are open but it’s clear they already have a candidate chosen prior to meeting with you. Great if you have the right person supporting you. Not so great if you are not one of their newer properties.
2 Phone interviews, one in person interview an hour away.
They ended up making an internal hire. Complete waste of time. It's great that they promote from within but it's clear that is what they do 90% for Property Manager and up positions. Stop wasting people's time.
