Several years ago, I applied and interviewed for a Head of Audit under the disguise of a Director title with Manager salary. Im not sure if they rejected me or vice versa as I landed a much better and higher paying role. However, now they posted for a Senior Director of Audit job with a senior manager level salary and I applied as I was unemployed. The recruiter told me the Director (who was hired a few years back) is leaving on his own (obviously got the experience and now wants more money) and that the exec leadership team felt he was too inexperienced anyway! No wonder, you get what you pay for. I have a ton of Board experience and indicated my salary expectations which were above the posted range. Said would get back to me and I ended up getting an automated rejection email instead. Clearly this is ANOTHER company that does not value Internal Audit.
