Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback both here and during multiple follow up calls to understand context around the situation. We apologize for the negative experience you had. This is not representative of Braze as a company, nor does it illustrate our company culture.
In regards to the interview experience, the feedback that you provided was valuable. Our mistake was escalating your situation to another recruiter instead of a Human Resources Business Partner who would have been the appropriate person in this situation. Since getting your feedback, two changes have been made: 1. If a similar situation arises, we will immediately bring in a Human Resources Business Partner, not a more senior recruiter. 2. We have built out new training for situations when candidates share that they have a disability. This training will be done by all interviewers and managers so that we, as a company, understand the correct escalation process and improve the overall interview experience for candidates with disabilities.
Again, we apologize for the negative experience and thank you for providing direct feedback to the team, which has helped improve our hiring practices.
