These "tell me about a time when..." questions are known as behavioral interview questions. We ask these to understand the situation, action you took, and the result of your action so we can better understand how you are likely to perform and if you'll be successful in our open role. It is always good to have some examples in the back of your mind that show your ability to impact a situation and explain the context, action, and outcome.
