Took a while to get a response, but finally did. The phone interview was 30 minutes. It started with basics tell me about yourself, etc. Then more conceptually thinking questions such as weaknesses, how you would improve a process, what your goals are, etc. Then some basic chatter about the interviewer's background.... here at which point, I realized I would not get an offer for the position I was interviewing for. Turns out the interviewer was fairly new, younger, and had less experience for the same group I would be working in. Therefore, I would be a threat to them or anyone else in a similar position as I could basically hit the ground running and begin to contribute. Very unfortunate, as I have always had the same mentality as 'Principals,' and a very strong work ethic. I will apply again in the future, hopefully management will work out less of a 'conflict of interest' interviewer.
