I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Stamford, CT) in Nov 2015
Interview
Was approached by a recruiter, filled out personality tests, went in for a full day of interviews. There was a group discussion on a current event, an individual interview, a problem solving group project, watching of tapes to show the daily role of bridgewater employees, and then meeting with individual teams. Lasted from 9am-5pm was a long day of the process.

Interview
The interview process was notably slow, spanning over six months. Throughout this period, there were extended gaps between each stage, leading to a prolonged and drawn-out experience. The timeline extended significantly beyond what I expected, with delays in feedback and decisions at multiple points.
Every interview is recorded. You're put in a room with other candidates who are also interviewing for the same role as you (ie your competitors) for group interviews in the morning. If you're lucky, you make it to the afternoon interviews - which are done 1x1.
