I first took an online personality assessment, which was to help determine if the candidate would be a fit for the firm. I was then invited to Connecticut to interview. The interviews took place at a Stamford Hotel, where non-locals stayed the previous night. There were a lot of other candidates there that day. Every candidate had a 1-on-1 chat with an HR representative. This was entirely behavioral. Candidates were also split into groups of 6-8 and a discussion took place on a random topic. 1-2 associates from Bridgewater guided the discussions and just tried to understand your thought process, meaning there were no right or wrong answers.

Question 1
No technical or difficult questions. They just want to know HOW you think and if it'll work at their firm.
I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Singapore)
Interview
The interview process was notably slow, spanning over six months. Throughout this period, there were extended gaps between each stage, leading to a prolonged and drawn-out experience. The timeline extended significantly beyond what I expected, with delays in feedback and decisions at multiple points.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (New York, NY) in Oct 2023
Interview
Started with a call with the hiring manager and an assignment to kick-start the process. However, the role was eventually taken off the market. The assignment had three essay-like questions, including one company case-study

Question 1
Something along the lines of... Describe why you thought a particular investment issue is important for investors and clients
Every interview is recorded. You're put in a room with other candidates who are also interviewing for the same role as you (ie your competitors) for group interviews in the morning. If you're lucky, you make it to the afternoon interviews - which are done 1x1.

Question 1
There were case interviews for the 1x1 sessions. For the group interview, they asked the group to debate a controversial topic and share their thoughts on it.
