I’m so sad about how this process played out! Went through phone screen, hiring manager interview and panel of executive directors (final round) and received responses to my thank you notes saying they hoped I would join the team only to be completely ghosted afterward by both the internal recruiter and hiring manager. Fortunately, I have a great job and only pursued this role because of my long-held admiration for BMS, which has sadly now kind of soured a bit. I was bummed to not get the job but mostly just hurt that these people who I’d built such a friendly rapport with didn’t even have the common courtesy to decline me. In the end, I suppose I dodged a bullet — my current colleagues certainly would not behave like this to a final round candidate. Sometimes things work out for the best — onward!
