I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Brookdale Senior Living (Virginia Beach, VA)
Interview
I had to go through 5-6 interviews only to be told that I didn't have enough internal sales experience. I did.. I am looking at age discrimination. I am sorry but these facilities are hiring young ladies with babies, husbands and much less work history in this field and they tend to hire the same age. Then they wonder why there is so much turn over. I had to jump through hoops to get an answer only to be told lies.

Interview
I had a phone call with a recruiter at the corporate office in Brentwood and then a follow up Zoom interview with a manager for a marketing position. Both went really well; the manager himself said that he liked me and was hoping his supervisor would agree and move me forward. That was three weeks ago. Now, look - rejection is a part of life. It’s fine to select another candidate. What’s unacceptable is not returning my emails or phone calls for three weeks. I reached out to the recruiter and to their general HR contact on their website. Nothing at all. It’s like they don’t exist.
Interviews are kind of like first dates - that’s when everyone is on their best behavior. So if that is how Brookdale treats their candidates, then I can’t imagine how they must treat their current employees. There are plenty of competitors to work for. I will not be applying here again.

Question 1
Something particular they asked outside of the general interview script is if I was vaccinated against COVID - so just be aware that’s a requirement.

Interview
When I interviewed for the company, I instantly loved the atmosphere of the company. Everyone was so fun and upbeat and seems to all get along. The interview was not intimidating and that made the experience way more relaxing. They did not try to trick me or ask me if I was a color what color would I be.
