I applied online and after a few weeks, got a phone call from one of the managers for an interview. She was very relaxed over the phone and flexible with my schedule ( I had been working full time at the time, so my availability was limited).
Interview was great. There were two managers, we went through a rack of clothing and I had to determine where the clothes came from, whether or not I would take it into the store and why or why not. Aced that test, then went through a series of questions about my personal style and the trends that I had observed recently and ones that were major trends a few years back. I thought I answered pretty well, I was friendly, assertive and knowledgeable on the topics. I had great questions back for them regarding their policies at the store because of my experience at a similar store.
It was actually humorous at the end, I was telling them about my family's store (which is much like buffalo exchange) and our great relationship with the buffalo exchange in minneapolis and they looked at each other and told me that they knew my mom and thought she was awesome and that our store was awesome. It couldn't have been a better interview.
Got a letter three days later in the mail saying I didn't get the job. Pretty confused on that one. Possibly could have been because I was overqualified, or a conflict of interest from my previous experience, but who knows.
