      Software Engineer Interview

      Sep 11, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Bullhorn

      Interview

Basically take a test for personality and aptitude. The aptitude aspect most does pertains to vocabulary. It would of been better tailor to a more problem solving issues since developers are problem solvers not English majors. Personality test is basically a generic one that you can do at a grocery store application.

      Question 1

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bullhorn in Nov 2020

      Interview

Bullhorn started with an aptitude and personality test, then moved me on to a 30 minute phone screen. The person I phone screened with said they'd like to move me on to the technical interview and their rep would get back to me in the next day. They did not get back to me the next day, which was Friday, but early the next week, when I was then told that the position was filled. Sadly this miscommunication wasn't the only one from them in this process, it was a trend. Their talent acquisition rep who was my point of contact for the process, was often slow to respond to me, made the position sound like they weren't looking to fill it immediately, scheduled the interview outside of my availability, and was clearly unable to keep everyone on the same page. They were one of the least professional point of contact I've had interviewing for a company, and this experience has made me lose interest in working with the company entirely.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Asked about my experience with various technologies, like databases, objected oriented programming, and cloud experience.

I'm sorry to hear we missed the mark on your candidate experience at Bullhorn. The team definitely works hard to create a great experience for everyone in their interview process, and while we strive for that 100% of the time, sometimes we inadvertently miss the mark. Appreciate you sharing your feedback, it is helpful as we look at areas of opportunities in our candidate life cycles. Best of luck in your job search! -Kelley Morse, VP, Talent & Business Partnering
