I applied in October. Weeks later, I get an email from the recruiter asking for times to do a phone screen, to which I apply with multiple options. I never heard back from her about confirming a time.
Months later, I get an email from the same recruiter asking for writing samples. I assume maybe I was just going to skip the phone screen part of the process (?) so I submitted my samples. A couple weeks later, she asks for writing samples a second time, so I wasn't sure if she even got my initial response with the samples from weeks prior.
She then messages me a few weeks later saying that the hiring manager wants me to complete an assessment, but at this point (keep in mind, I had applied about 3 months before) I still had not talked with a single person about what the role entailed, so I didn't feel like completing a test for a job I didn't know if I even wanted would be a good use of my time. I replied to her assessment request just asking where exactly I was in the process since I had never actually interviewed with anyone and was a bit confused. She actually *did* reply to that email but didn't answer my question about why the interview process was so convoluted; instead, she just asked when I'd be sending my test back in.
So, at this point, I decided that the entire process was a total waste of time. A few weeks ago, I get an email saying I was not a fit for the role but that I could join some sort of talent community. (?)
