Made it through 3 interviews. Recruiter, Hiring Manager, Technical Review.
Regardless that I did not receive an offer, it was the misleading promises made by CDW management and recruiting staff which was my influence in applying for this position.
Recruiting Staff - "I'm here to be your concierge through this process. Anything you need. Any questions. Feel free to ping me and i'll be happy to help you. If you're not offered the position, we'll be sure to reach out and review what you were lacking so you could apply in the future."
Management (Hiring Manager) - "Even if we don't offer you the position, I will personally reach out to you and go over what you were lacking. Kind of like a post interview review. I think you'd be a great fit for CDW, and I'll do what I can to get you in the door."
These are literal quotes from their staff. After my technical review, I went about 2-3 weeks with no answer. No responses or attempts at contact. I was initially approached by the hiring manager for this position. After all the waiting, I reached out to my recruiter "concierge" for assistance and a progress update. No call, no conversation, no promises of feedback or post review like promised by two different members of the CDW hiring staff. Just a generic, pre formatted, fill in the blanks, email attachment.
Being on the customer side, this puts a bad taste in my mouth about CDW. They make a lot of promises and provide a lot of HYPE to get you interested in what they're selling (a job, a product), but when it comes down to cashing in on those promises, they don't deliver. Makes me think thats what it would be like purchasing from them. While they didn't get me as an employee, they definitely lost me as a customer. If they had only followed through on their promises.
