Interview
I applied online and received an offer to attend the online assessment centre after 2 weeks. The assessment centre involved a group task and an individual task, followed by a solo interview. The early careers team made the whole process very relaxed, making it feel almost casual which I liked. I received an offer after 7 working days.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Scenarios like: What was a time you had to change someone's mind? Talk about a time when you had to explain something to someone who was less knowledgeable, etc
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CGI (Glasgow, Scotland) in Jan 2022
Interview
I applied online, answering their main questions to the best of my ability.
I then got an email around 2 months later inviting me to an assessment centre. This consisted of a 3 hour assessment centre, and then a 1 hour interview.
Assessment Centre was broken down to two tasks, the first of which being a group exercise, we were tasked with creating a new product for cgi featuring an emerging technology, my group chose internet of things, and then present your product to a couple hiring managers. Overall this task worked pretty well, I think I did good. I then moved onto the individual task, we were provided with a task sheet with lots of information on a client project, along with a few emails. We were to respond to the emails, and summarise the project to the best of our ability in the allotted 45 mins.
After these tasks you are shown a presentation for your applicable business unit, and are given the chance to ask questions.
Overall I would say this assessment centre was very chill, with only 10 other candidates, and the tasks were not overwhelming given the time.
After the morning assessment centre, I was given a 1 hour slot for my final interview. I feel like the interview went well, the interviewer seemed genuinely interested in me, and was great at answering any questions I had. They made it clear they had to ask specific questions, but would try their best to spur your mind as not to stop the conversation flowing.
They let us know that we would hear back, even if we were not successful (with feedback if requested) within 10 working days. However, i did not hear back until almost 20 working days later.
Thankfully I was successful and I am just waiting to receive contract and offer letter, after receiving a call at 6pm on Thursday night.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CGI (Leatherhead, England) in Dec 2021
Interview
Made it through to the assessment centre.
The assessment centre (3 hours) comprised of a written exercise and a presentation. These were claimed to provide a "taste" of what the role entails.
The presentation involved working with a group (of 4-5 applicants) to provide a pitch of a new product/technology to a board, who aren't technically minded. From my understanding, the job role does not entail work of this nature, so it seemed a bit odd that this was part of the application process.
The written exercise involved reading a few documents relating to a scenario that you could be working on in the role, where another "employee" informs you of a mistake in their calculations that affects a client's imminent presentation. You are tasked with sending 4-5 emails to the relevant parties in order to resolve the issue within 45 minutes.
After that, there is an hour-long interview with someone working in the role. Standard behavioural/competency questions were asked. This was the highlight of the application process. The interviewer asked sensible questions and was genuinely interested in me, my past experience and what I do in my free time. Definitely the best interview I have had in a while.
CGI promises to let you know of an outcome (with optional individual feedback) within 10 working days. This seemed a bit excessive, given that other companies usually take no longer than 2-3 days to receive a decision.
It has been around 23 working days and I have not heard back from them.
