Initial interview was with a recruiter and it appeared to go well. It was fairly formal and structured. The recruiter had a specific set of questions you could tell were SOP for CHG. The recruiter invited me back in two days for a recruiting open house however, she ended up calling me after the interview and instead asked me to come back for their 2 1/2 hour final group interview process that was scheduled earlier the same day as the open house. Final Interview Process: There were three groups of 6, after we were given some insight about the company we were given a group activity (take three tennis balls and everyone has to touch each tennis ball once without someone else touching it at the same time. You go through this activity 3 times and each time the goal is to improve on your previous time. There's more to the rules than I listed but suffice it to say it was actually enjoyable). I had two interviews after the activity, both with department directors. I was told by a couple of other potential employees in my group that if you get past the first interview and go on to the second you're pretty much guaranteed you're "in" as an employee. One person who told me this has a brother who works for CHG. However, this is not true! I have been interviewed by CEO's, VP's, Regional Managers, Managers, etc, as well as having interviewed many potential employees myself as a prior manager and I am very comfortable with the interview process and have had very few questions thrown at me that I have not heard before. I was told I did great and was hopeful. I received a call the next day as was told I didn't get the job. I was disappointed but that's life. I asked what feedback she could give me, she said "they" thought I didn't have the urgency they wanted and my prior sales/management job experience was not reflective of what they prefer. I can't say for sure but I believe it may have had something to do with my age (I was twice the age of most people there for the interview process and definitely twice the age of the average employee I saw. Possibly, they thought I was "set in my ways" since I have been in the work force for 30 years.) I get it and know they can't / wouldn't come out and say this for obvious legal reasons. Being on the phone calling and talking to clients and potential customers in a fast paced / high volume environment is what I do and have a lot of experience in so I was dumbfounded but have moved on.
