Interview
The process leading up to the offer was great. They were very accommodating when it came to flexibility with video interviews due to distance. All the managers were extremely nice and professional. My only issue was when it came to salary I told them what it would take to get me to switch jobs they said they would see if they could get it approved but never heard anything after that. I even followed up a couple times and still no response. I was sold on the company after the interviews and was excited about possibly joining but never got an answer.

We’d love to talk to you about your experience. Please e-mail us at cpicareers@cpisecurity.com so we can schedule a time to discuss. Again, we are sorry we did not meet your expectations and we are looking forward to speaking with you soon.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at CPI Security (Knoxville, TN) in Mar 2018
Interview
From the start the company was dishonest. The job was advertised as a sales manager position with a standard salary. I show up to the interview and it becomes a sales pitch to get me to become a door to door salesman with no salary and only commission. I said to the interviewer that I had applied for the sales manager position and they replied with "huh" and it was not acknowledged further. When I told them it would be irresponsible for me to leave a salaried position for 100% commission they just repeatedly tried to say "but you could make so much money here by 6 months!" I have bills to pay between now and then. Dishonest hiring practices are indicative of a very dishonest company. I would never work for one that lists fake job postings.

Your review of your experience is much appreciated! As we interview candidates for positions, we consider a multitude qualifications that are outlined in the job description. For management roles, we do require previous management experience, which could be why your interviewer suggested other opportunities as he or she uncovered more details on your previous work experience throughout your interview. And while we require previous management experience for management roles, internal experience in sales does give an individual an opportunity to showcase their management skills for consideration in promotions and transfers. We will continue to fine-tune our interviewing process and better explain intentions based off your review. Please reach out to Human Resources with additional comments or questions.
