From someone in corporate, you get a phone call and an email requesting a phone interview with the local manager 2-9 days after submitting your application online. Before scheduling the interview, this person does a little pre-interview during which they clarify the duties and locations of the job and ensure you are willing/able to do them. I never made it past this point, but it feels like they'd take anyone with a pulse who doesn't present any red flags during the interview.
This company has really misleading job listings. I actually applied to two separate listings for what they call "Retail Merchandiser/Resets." The listings had identical text which heavily implied you would be doing stocking-type merchandising at Walmart(s), with occasional resets. That's not really accurate. The first time I was given a list of 16 Winn-Dixie's I would be servicing, with no clear indication whether the duties lean more to resets or stocking. Turned out someone already transferred into that job, but corporate never got that info. The second time, the job was described to me as whole store resets at a different store each week all over the state.
