Application
I applied online. I interviewed at Canonical (London, England) in Jul 2017
Interview
1) fill a form online
2) fill a MS Word document with a lot of technical question + some communication questions
3) get a one hour technical interview
Those questions test the "what do you know side?"
They are all of the type:
"Give me the answer to a question google takes a fraction of a second to answer."
Pretty boring, and it does not give a good impression of the company.
They do not test your problem solving skills or your capacity to resolve problems.
Comparing to other interview processes I am running through, they look pretty amateurish.
This shows a lack of thinking for their part about what a good job interview is.
Anyway, I was not really interested in the position and that got me somehow trained to this kind of interviews for other position I do care much more about.
Basic HR questions. For the technical part, person who asks questions was very rude. they send a home assessment which was not bad. But the technical interview was very bad. Firstly , his web cam was positioned to show me from below in front of him. And he did not even bother to look at the my face at any question. And questions he asks does not have specific solutions.
That was the worst interview I have ever had in my life.
