      Microservices Engineer Interview

      Sep 18, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Canonical in Sep 2024

      Interview

They first contacted me through email. I was required to do a psychometric test. After completing it, they said that it was not a pass or fail. They also take into account the experience questions that you answer. Answered and submitted 40 questions on experience, took about 5 days and 20 page document. Got a rejection email a few hours later. So much for using human reviewers. The first round alone was tiresome and the process does not value a candidate's time.

      Microservices Engineer Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Canonical in Mar 2024

      Interview

Canonical has no regard or respect for applicants' time as their interview process is ridiculously long and some parts were just weird and insulting. The interview process consisted of (in order): a 50 question response essay, a python coding test (multiple choice + 2 long answer), an IQ test, three technical interviews, a behavioral test, interview with hiring lead (I made it up to here), and an interview with management. Overall, the interview process left me feeling degraded, humiliated and was a complete waste of time. I was disqualified at the very end of the interview process because I lacked enough experience with Linux, even though I was clear and transparent about my experience level from the initial application. To make me jump through all those levels of interviews, write an IQ test, write an essay response to 50 interview questions all to lead to being disqualified over something that should have been picked up on from the initial application screening was incredibly unprofessional and a huge waste of my time and the company's resources. The only good thing in my experience were the three engineers that interviewed me in the technical interviews, they were friendly and professional. I strongly implore you to stay away from this company.

      Question 1

Questions about your academics in high school and university. As well as general questions about personal experience related to the job, linux, microservices, and architecture.
