I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Canonical in Mar 2025
Interview
I recently received a written interview consisting of multiple questions, covering my software engineering experience, education background, my favourite or most impactful personal project, as well as some contextual details about their company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Your favorite or best personal project
Many candidates have tackled some personal project, not because it was coursework or curriculum, but because it was very interesting to them. This might be something from scratch, or it might be a fork or contribution to a piece of open source. Don't worry if you don't have one, you can just skip this section. But if you do, please answer these questions, and we might ask you to walk us through it later.
2 rounds of interviews, one for the art and science of software engineering and another round to talk about open source and the inspiration for open source. There would also be late stage interviews, the ones I described are the early stage interviews of the process

Question 1
Motivation for open source and why you find it amazing
I applied online. I interviewed at Canonical (Bengaluru)
Interview
There is a written test where you have to list out all your achievements, and then a psychometric test. After which, if you are shortlisted, you get called for a one-on-one interview.
Quite long, but friendly staff, many stages including personality tests, coding tests, and online interviews. Stages can be quite drawn out. Personally reached late stage, however did not get an offer.
