I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2014
Interview
Applied online, emailed me back in a week with an online assessment, followed by a HR screen. I traveled to their Toronto office for a case study which was just simple profit/cost analysis, followed by a 1 hour Behavioral. I tried to rush through the case too quickly and got more things confused than I should have. Overall they were extremely easy, but make sure you ask when the questions are ambiguous. Got a call back in the next week for the final interview. Same thing except for a half hour job fit interview with the hiring manager in the beginning. Same thing as before except the questions were a bit harder, but not harder than what you do in Highschool/1st year calculus. Overall the interviewers were very helpful and encouraging.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Behavioral was fairly standard, though make sure to use different examples for both interviews even if the questions are similar. I got caught off guard in the case study as it required some quick differentiation to find the derivative of a function. I haven't done that since Highschool.
Started with an OA, and then proceeded to data challenge, and afterwards it was Power Day which had 4 rounds of interview. 2 of them were more problem-solving, and one of them was walking through the data challenge
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
In one of the rounds I was a given a question related to debit/credit card
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Capital One (Plano, TX)
Interview
1) CodeSignal proctored test. Tests analytical prowess and SQL. Time is tight, with increasingly difficult questions. You have to pass to move on.
2) Data Challenge. Python coding challenge to answer 5 questions. You need to merge/ clean your dataset and make a recommendation. You present it during power day.
3) Powerday. 4 interviews back to back. 2 case interviews, 1 behavioral interview, 1 data challenge interview.
Powerday 4 rounds back to back. One data challenge presentation , two cases and one behavior round. Overall easy and it was a nice experience. Interviewers responded the follow up questions detailedly.
