I was contacted by a UK recruiter about a marketing role at Cargurus based in the UK. I was immediately interested, based on the fantastic opportunity to build the marketing function for a growing, reputable company.
I made the first round interview process, and so went through to the second with their US marketing lead. That interview was in November 2025. It's now January 2026 and not a word. No follow-up email to myself or the recruiter as to why they didn't progress with my application - nothing, Just a rude and unfortunate ghosting, It's unbelievably appalling to treat candidates this way. I know people are busy - heck, we're all busy, but what about common courtesy? When candidates take the time to show interest in your company, research and prepare for TWO live interviews, the very least you'd expect is a rejection email from the hiring manager.
What's even more alarming about this whole experience, is they claim to put their people first - that they are an "employee-centric" business.
A warning to others - just don't bother. There are plenty of companies who have greater respect for candidates (and pay better, too!)
