However, a week later the recruiter emailed and said that I did not make it to the final round because there was a "incredibly talented pool of candidates".

Call interview for about 20 minutes. The recruiter asked me if I knew their company, and then she started to explain about the company and its mission, and its benefits. Then she asked me a brief about myself. Then she asked why I wanted to join their company. In the end, she explained the job description, and after all, she asked me about the pay and the pay was too low for this position.
