The first stage was a video interview. They sent an email explaining that the interview would include a roleplay of the job and attached a document with some pricings that would be needed for it. At the start of the interview I was placed in a call with several other candidates where they then explained we would all be sent off to private calls for the interview to begin. At this stage they also sent an additional much more detailed document about the roleplay which they said we would have ten minutes to read it before the roleplay section started.
Once in the private call the actual interview section was less than five minutes. Rather than interview they had one person simply read off my CV and had me confirm the information was all correct whilst another took notes. When I tried to elaborate on anything I was interrupted and told it wasn't necessary. They then moved on to the roleplay. I was only given five minutes to read through it where it also mentions having the Carnival website up to familiarise yourself with it for more information. The actual roleplay was a simulated call with someone asking about a cruise with incorrect information. It is all standard and easy up until you are asked to find the exact cruise on the website to let them know about the itinerary. I was given one minute before I was told it didn't matter and they moved on.
I was told I would hear from them within a week but didn't and was ignored when I emailed about if I was successful or not.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What made you want to apply for us over our competitors?
I was contacted and advised of a Phone interview, which was just regarding office hours, availability and salary expectations.
Then was invited to participate in a Face to face interview
I applied online. I interviewed at Carnival Corporation (Sydney) in Jan 2017
Interview
Started with a telephone interview screening, for thirty minutes. The questions were basic and one week later I was called to attend an in person interview. Firstly, I was sent to a room with a group of candidates and we all had to do a typing skills test, followed by the initial interview with the Reservations Team Leader and the HR Manager. The final part of the interview was a role play, where I was a Travel Agent and the Team Leader and HR Manager where playing the role of the guests.
The following week I was offered the job and happily accepted.
