Interview
I recently had a screening call for a BDR role at Chainguard, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The call lasted only about 7 minutes—the shortest and most impersonal screening I've ever encountered. It felt rushed and robotic, as though the company was more interested in ticking boxes than actually understanding who I am as a candidate. There was no opportunity to discuss my skills, experience, or career goals, which made the process feel like a formality rather than a genuine effort to find the right fit.
I was also told they were looking to hire 12 BDRs, which raised red flags about the company’s hiring strategy—potentially signaling high turnover or unrealistic growth expectations. To make matters worse, crucial information such as compensation, benefits, or the company culture wasn’t even mentioned. The entire experience came across as disorganized and transactional, leaving me frustrated and questioning whether Chainguard values its candidates at all.
In today’s competitive job market, companies need to do better. Chainguard should seriously reevaluate their hiring process to reflect the respect and professionalism job seekers deserve.
