Checkpoint:
Applied online for Diamond services Technical support Engineering position, got a call from the recruiter asking basics questions like why this job, immigration status, salary expectations. My resume was then forwarded to the hiring manager.
I should say I was thoroughly disappointed; the hiring manager didn’t even take a look at the resume before the start of the interview. He gave me vibe like “You just have 5 years of experience of Network Engineering experience and you think You can be Diamond Shift Engineer at Checkpoint? Well, I don’t think so” while he was looking at my resume during the video call. Anyways We then proceeded to Technical round, he asked me few questions:
1. Give me a background about your Experience?
2. What is BGP?
3. What is the purpose of an AS number?
4. Have your worked with checkpoint Firewall?
5. Are you interested in Cloud Technologies?
6. What is your take on Network Industry moving towards Cloud in general?
7. Are you open to work in night shifts?
8. What would you do if are on a call with a customer and if your manager asked to perform a task? Which one would give up over the other and why
Asked if I had any questions. I was told I would be invited online which would be a paper test with about 60 questions given some amount of time. Although, I never made it that far. I was sent a rejection without a proper explanation whatsoever. I prepared really hard although in the end it did not mount anything. Maybe a better prospect is waiting somewhere.
I think the hiring manager was a pretty decent guy and was just having an off day, it almost looked like someone forced him to the interview which made me wonder why they could not just reschedule the interview. Anyways, I think did not feel it was good experience. But I have used checkpoint firewall it was pretty solid and I think they are moving in the right direction. InSite of having simple interface, it is pretty robust. I hope if you are reading this, you at least have a better experience and get the job if you are the right fit. Good luck!
