I had three interviews on separate days. First one was a manager interview, and the others were final interviews. This is not a mistake. I was aiming for a department, but after receiving the first final interview, I was told that they were considering that I may be appropriate for another department. It was said that they wanted me to come back for the interview again because the officers in charge are different.
The meeting with the manager was a peaceful atmosphere, but the meeting with the executives of the basic research department was harsh. There was no smile at all. He said it was interesting about my research, but I did not pass. It seems that the skill set they were looking for might have been different. Furthermore, one of my questions seemed to be unpleasant to him. You should not say unnecessary things.
The interview in the next department was back to a peaceful atmosphere, but I asked some of nooby questions as I did not receive a manager interview from this department. As a result, they might think I was not serious for job hunting (Note: This is just my estimation). When I was consulted for the second final interview, I should have asked the recruiter for these questions (But I was skiing at that time !!).
In any case, what you should recognize about this company is that there is no feedback. The interview was done three times, but nothing. I think that is a good reason for negative evaluation.
