      College Intern Tech Undergrad Interview

      Jul 17, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Amherst, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Cisco (Amherst, MA) in Apr 2012

      Interview

I sent an email to a college recruiter (they came to my school at the career fair) asking for a chance to land an interview and I expressed how badly I wanted to work for Cisco. I got called a couple of days later and they set up an interview via webchat right away. I did my research on the interviewer, all my school projects I wanted to talk about etc... I didn't nail every interview question about Java (I applied for a software position) but I tried talking about my interest in the product he helped develop the UMI. He was impressed in my interest and initiative.

      Question 1

The most difficult was when he asked me if there was any part of my school projects that really tripped me up. When I confessed of a problem I had he asked me to explain what the problem was and then the solution and what I did to fix it. He expected that I learned everything about the problem in order to overcome it.
