My interview process with citco was a fairly standard one. I sent my resume and cover letter the the directing manager of citco, from there it was forwarded to HR. The HR rep called me to have a small converstation about when I would be available for a standard phone interview. I waited for about a week or so for the phone call and in that call we discussed why I wanted to work for citco, my short term goals, if I was farmiliar with the kinds of work they did (ie do you know what a hedge fund is or currency swaps blah blah) and pretty standard questions. Then she went on to say that she would send my info along to the hiring managers and they would get in touch with me if we were to go any further. I got the call (hazah!) and went in for an in person interview. Let me tell you- I was quite nervous. My first big corporate interview- but I went in with confidence and it worked out. I had 2 short accounting questions; which where a longer general ledger reconciliation between citcos books and the broker, and simple journal entries. Then there was a ficticious client email (a quite unhappy one) and you had to make a response. Once I finished those (about 45 minutes) the two managers came in and we have about a 45 minute in person interview. I was quite suriprised at the amount of technical questions they asked (none hard if you come prepared), many of my freinds just finished their CA interviews and those firms did not ask a single technical question, however about 10 miniutes of this interview was technical (ie if marker yeilds go up, what is the effect on bonds, if you debit cash and credit interest- what transaction has just occured). The rest was pretty standard interview questions. My MAIN piece of advice is- MAKE THEM LAUGH. I had them cracking up almost the whole time, I credit that personal skill to my success.
