I had my initial call with the recruiter - Bianca. Call went very well. She was eager to push me through to the interview stage. I was told it was a 3-step interview; 1) in-person interview with a couple of managers from the team, 2) virtual interview with a couple of the direct reports in CA to the folks I would be supporting, and 3) virtual interview with the two folks I would be directly supporting - CTO & CTO. I had interview one. Passed. I had interview two. Passed. I had interview three which also included the gal I would be replacing. Passed and was asked if I would do a 4th interview with an EA from the team on-site. Of course. I had interview four. Passed. I was asked if I would have lunch with the person I would be replacing. Of course. We had dinner via interview FIVE. Passed. I was then asked if I would attend yet another virtual interview with two folks from HR. Of course. This is when the gal I would be replacing stepped in and said that was not necessary - she, the CTO and CPO approve to move forward with offer. Luckily those two interviews were cancelled. I received my offer. I negotiated my offer. I received final offer. I signed final offer. I was quickly pushed through hiring paperwork and onboarding so I could spend the last two days (Thurs/Fri) with the gal I was replacing for in-person training. I was contacted at 4:45p on Wed night stating they moved 'too quickly' and needed to call my references. They asked me to provide 3 references. Of course. I provided 3 references to my most recent employer. I was then asked if I could provide 3 references to my second most recent employer. Of course. I provided 3 references to my second most recent employer. My references started reaching out to me and letting me know they were contacted and that they gave STELLAR reviews. Of course they did. I wan then contacted by the recruiter stating they were having a hard time reaching HR at my most recent or second most recent employer and could I provide a phone number. Before I could provide the info requested I received a text message from the recruiter stating she sent an email and doesn't have anymore to share. Good luck. WTF? I checked my email to find out my offer had been rescinded. Uh...what happened? I proceeded to ask if there was anything that could be shared to help me in my career search. Crickets... I supposed I dodged a bullet working for this company. If this is how they are going to operate business I want no part of it. Then they reposted the position a couple days later. Yeah, because that makes sense.
