I did not interview as I did not complete the absurd application process. You have to write length responses to multiple open-ended questions, take a typing test, commit to working more than usual, answer a hypothetical scenario AND submit a video of yourself. The last seems to get into potentially discriminatory territory. While many of these questions and requests would be fair game in the recruiting process, they would be asked once you've been selected as a candidate, not before you even know if they'll read your resume. This company is asking applicants to make a substantial time commitment when they likely have a small chance to even make it to a phone screening in the first place. Why would I take the time and effort to complete this application when I can submit 5-10 applications to other companies for a similar role in the same amount of time? Additionally, it looks like their compensation is below average, further making me question why they think it is smart to deter so many potential applicants.
