I applied online. I interviewed at Co-op in Jun 2026
Interview
It was nice and smooth and very intuitive. I liked how I had help from the website to prepare for the interview and so I was able to fully explain my previous experience.

Give me a time when you stood up for yourself or someone else
I applied online. I interviewed at Co-op (Manchester City Centre, England) in Oct 2021
Interview
It wasn’t bad! They emailed what they were looking for before hand so it was easy to prepare because they basically gave you a clear idea of what they were looking for and how to present yourself. It was definitely a more formal and thorough interview. Most retail roles have been informal and quite chatty, this interview was quite set out and you needed to say the right things etc in line with their values. And a bit more intimidating compared to my past experiences. But otherwise it was good!

Question 1
A time that I stood up for myself and something I believed in
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Co-op (Stotfold, England) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview was relaxed and friendly. The interviewer asked questions about my availability, customer service, teamwork, and previous experience. They also explained the role and what it would involve. I had the opportunity to ask questions at the end, and the interview lasted around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Very impersonal. All done online and the logic between what constitutes a good or bad answer is totally unidentifiable. You would have better luck turning up in person and asking if you can hand in your CV and interview in person instead!
