CoStar Group Research Associate interview questions

A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn informing me about the position. I had never had this happen before so it was a very exciting experience. They were very friendly and informative, and explained how they felt my experience fit the position and asked me to apply. Once I applied I heard back from the recruiter and we had a fantastic conversation about the position, my experience, and the opportunities and benefits CoStar has to offer. After a great phone interview, I was asked to come into the office for a hands-on interview. This was also a first for me, but it was an absolute blast. CoStar was very transparent when discussing HR information, providing as much detail as requested. I then had the opportunity to see what a day would be like in this position as I met with someone who is currently a Research Associate. I got a feel for the management system and even conducted a mock phone call, which was so much fun. Lastly, I met with one of the Research Managers to discuss my experience in depth, as well as discuss my goals and growth opportunities. After the interview, I heard back from the recruiter, within four days, they were interested in my feedback on the interview but most importantly they wanted to ensure this position was a great fit for me and my goals (it is!), I really appreciated the assistance and care the recruiter provided to me. CoStar made the hiring process fun rather than nerve-wracking!

I interviewed with the Richmond office. The whole process from application to offer letter took about 2 weeks. The first step was a phone interview that was scheduled ahead of time for a 30-minute window. The interview was with an HR manager and ended up taking about 45 minutes. During the phone interview, the HR manager was very knowledgeable about the company and extremely clear about what the job requirements are. The in-person interview took approx 2 hours. The first part is a sit down with the HR Manager from the phone interview. They did a great job to explain what the process will be like and make the applicants feel welcomed. The next step is a side by side with a current research associate. They show you what the day to day is like and answer any questions. That part of the process was very insightful and really paints a picture of what the day to day and culture is at CoStar. After the side by side, your RA will take you to an interview room to wait for an RA manager to interview. The Manager was very nice and asked questions about past experience and how that will relate to the position. They were very clear about the amount of time that is spent on the phone and what the metrics are for the position. Overall going to an interview at a companies office can be intimidating but CoStar did a great job with making me feel comfortable and communicating the position requirements.
