I recently went through a week-long interview process with Coforge, which included discussions with senior leadership across two panels.
My interaction with the first panel (based in Pune) was a positive experience. The director asked thoughtful, relevant questions aligned with his experience, and the discussion felt constructive and engaging.
However, my experience with the second panel from Chennai (focused on GenAI) was disappointing. While I was explaining my approach and practical experience with GenAI concepts (including frameworks like LangChain), I was frequently interrupted and not given adequate opportunity to complete my responses. Instead of exploring my reasoning or asking follow-up questions to better understand my perspective, the interviewer dismissed points without detailed discussion and imposed their own views.
Constructive technical interviews should allow candidates to fully articulate their thought process, especially in evolving areas like GenAI where multiple valid approaches (e.g., RAG-based architectures) exist. A more collaborative and exploratory discussion would have been far more productive.
Overall, while part of the process was positive, the inconsistency in interview experience—particularly the lack of open technical dialogue in one panel—made the overall experience less favorable.
