      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at College Board (New York, NY) in Nov 2024

      Interview

Recruiter phone screening, manager interview, post-interview exercise, panel interview. The recruiter was the only person that seemed friendly and engaging. Everyone else was very cold, showed no personality whatsoever. It felt like a very rigid, robotic, and not very fun place to work. Asking probing questions revealed a disconnect between how the recruiter had described the company vs. how the manager described things, i.e. limited growth potential, lack of recognition, etc. Seemed like a very 'stay in your line/we've always done it this way' environment where a lot of new ideas would be shot down due to bureaucracy. All things considered, it turned me off quite a bit. I did appreciate the transparency around salary, benefits, and post-interview feedback from the recruiter.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Seemingly repetitive questions over and over, plus an exercise they didn't really even describe or discuss if what I had shared aligned with how they handle project work

      Project Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at College Board (New York, NY)

      Interview

The interview process was really quick. I went in as a contractor and by the time I reached my bus to go home I heard I was hired. It's not an easy company to get into but if they like you and need you, you're golden. Respectful office environment, not many perks. It's cubicle nation, and privacy IS a problem. There is no place to steal away for a private phone conversation and depending on which building you're in, you may not have a place to eat your lunch. The work week rarely ever exceeds 40 hours, so that's a good thing. I liked the people that I worked with. Overall, it was great.
