I had a phone screen with the internal recruiter. I have 20+ years marketing experience and am a bit senior for the role, but want to get in to Colliers so I applied. After 25 minutes, the recruiter asked what I was looking for comp-wise. I told her I could make what was posted happen. She said the top of the range was $30k LESS than what was posted. When I told her, she said she wasn't aware of that - which seemed extremely odd/unprofessional. She said I was extremely qualified and would ask the hiring manager if there was any wiggle room. I followed up the interview with a thank you note. One week after, I checked in about the comp and status. She replied a few days after with a canned email stating that they were moving forward with candidates who were more qualified. Extremely unprofessional and very disappointing. In a time where commercial real estate is suffering, this experience is very bad for the brand.
