I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Compass
Interview
The Strategic Growth Manager (SGM) interview process was exciting, extremely detailed and a bit stressful at times. Overall the process took about a month, included 4 separate rounds, speaking with a total of 7 different people ranging from a current SGM, SGM Team Lead, MD, Head of Sales & CRO. Fortunately I was able to work directly with an in house recruiter who provide enough background on the role & each round that I was able to prepare going in. Each round had different questions varying from learning about my background/sales experience to Compass familiarity. I felt challenged each round but respected as well which was extremely important to me going in. They took the time to learn about me, my goals and aspirations and fortunately they aligned very well with Compass. I would give the process a 9/10, the only knock was clarity into what next steps would entail if I had passed, so I ended each interview refreshing my inbox to hear what's next.

Question 1
"Pitch me compass"
"why do you think our competitors haven't invested into the technology the way compass has"
- Complete a mock call acting as an SGM.
Felt similar to another SGM interview I read on Glassdoor. Had one call with recruiter and felt like I was just a number to boost number of people interviewed for the position.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Compass (New York, NY) in Jun 2024
Interview
I was told it was a 4-5 interview process. I completed an introductory interview with the main recruiter for the department. He prepped me for the second interview. I was prepared to speak very specifically about the requirements of the position but unfortunately the head of the department did not ask me anything about my knowledge of the product and steered the conversation away from it when I attempted to display how my experience would fit the position. I wasn’t offered a second interview despite being uniquely qualified.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Compass in Apr 2024
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me several times. On our call she immediately prefaced the call with "Well this wont take long at all" and sounded like she was speed reading through a job description. Then she asked to learn a little about my background. After I shared about my bg, no questions were asked and was told that she will share the information with the hiring people and will get back to me. I don't even think I was able to say Bye as she hung up so quick. I've been in recruiting and staffing for many years and this was the most unprofessional recruiter I've spoken to. She sounded impatient and just trying to get her numbers in. I was honestly so shocked.

Question 1
No questions were asked about me, what I'm looking for, no follow up questions on my experience, background, etc. It was a complete waste of my time, but at least it wasn't a 30 min call because she was right - it didnt take long about a 9 minute phone call.
